After a lot of reading, I settled on a 49” Sony X950H. So naturally we came home with a 55” Samsung Q8DT.
The Samsung was on sale, taking it from more expensive than the Sony, to cheaper, and it looked better. It looked closer to the Sony A8H, which was significantly more expensive. I have more fiddling to do before I’m totally happy with how ours looks, but I guess I shouldn’t get too involved until it’s finished burning in. Unsurprisingly, it doesn’t have RCA out for audio, so I have a Topping E30 DAC headed my way, which even has a remote for volume which will be a nice bonus.

We last bought a television set in 2004...after going through three TVs in as many months!

I hope this one lasts a while, but I highly doubt it will

Nice Sansui 9090! (I spent way too much time googling that
)

Thanks! 9090DB actually, even more power than the 9090. It’s too much for the size of the room to be honest, but it sounds brilliant

console too. You have good taste.

Is it TV mounting day?
We just pulled our old one down and put up a new one. Went from a 55" with a small line of dead pixels on one side to a new 75"...
